CURRENT MESSAGE

Well, it finally happened. I'm engaged. Oh my gosh, I'm engaged!!! It started after church. I visited Mom, then came out to my car where a note was taped to my steering wheel... This started me on my trip. I was instructed to follow clues, eventually arriving at a big show. So, I followed the first clue to the place where matt and I first met. This led me to call a friend of mine in California who gave me the next clue that took me to Caitlin. Caitlin had a clue that led me to Liz. Liz had a clue that led me to where I shot a lot of my movies (a place precious to me and Matt as our hang out last year). Then, that clue led me to another friend, which finally led me to the theatre where we met. He had asked permission to have it. I walked up to the theatre, where a sign said "Come on in, the show is about to begin." Another sign on the stage door said "Come on in." I walked into the darkened theatre space, and a light came on over a chair. I walked to it. It said "Have a seat." I sat. Another light across the way came on. I watched as Matthew stepped into the light. He read a poem he had written years ago, before we met, when he was 19, composed for the woman he was going to marry. He crossed from his light to mine, citing my whole name, then he dropped to one knee and held open a ring box saying, "Will you marry me?" My reply? "Is this for real? Are you kidding?" I was in SHOCK. Of course, I said YES, and it's been a grand day ever since! We've been running around visiting family and friends who BEGGED we visit after the event occurred because Matt wanted the actual proposal to be just between him and me... and I appreciated that SO much.... Then, we had sushi dinner, and it's starting to set in that I am engaged to marry this man, this man whom I love, who I have known 3 years now, and as of August, will have been dating 3 years... There are many other circumstances as to why it didn't happen last week (the day we met) that all revolve around me basically being unable to do anything because of 10 papers, a lesson plan, and a final lecture being due. I was wiped out on the floor, let me tell you. LOTS of crying... and though I had suspicions because EVERYONE was in on this, I was surprised and SO touched at how he pulled it off. I love that he included my friends and family in the process. That made it even more special! I'm still on cloud nine, and so glad it happened, and so happy, and thrilled, and freaking out at the same time... Oh. My. Gosh. I am so blessed, and so happy that the Lord blessed me with this man!! I'm ENGAGED!!!!!!!! ACCCK! :)
