December 27, 2011 at 7:15 am | In the same way that British English was fast to recejt American English, and that American English was fast to recejt slang, I think that there are many forms of art forms that are both widely consumed yet unrecognized in the digital world. One definition of art is: the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance. A narrative video game (or dare I say an iPhone app) that engages a sixteen year old around the clock: it is both aesthetically appealing and of extreme significance. Is that art for art's sake?
