Quoting text and clarifying who you are addressing are just ways to work around a problem caused by phpbb that doesn't even exist to begin with in multi-threaded boards like this one. Why should we switch and adapt to a new format where we have to go to such lenghts to make ourselves understood simply because this style has been around for longer and is considered "old fashioned"?
Let's turn the question around instead and ask exactly what's so terribly outdated on this board? What features are inconvenient or needlessly complicated or restrict user functionality? Is there something specific that's missing, some absolutely vital feature that can only be incorporated into phpbb based forums?
For the record, I think viewing all messages on a single page is a great idea. *If* it's done the way it is on the SB, where the index is used so you can review them at a glance and determine whether something might be worth reading before you have to open it :P
