Heehee Trains are *certainly* not the cheapest way to get from Amsterdam to London. Crossing the channel alone will cost you more than a budget airfare (and Schiphol-London is a well served route) would. And I don't think the ferry comes cheaply either (and you have to pay to get to the Hook, and then from Harwich to London.) The days when flying was the most expensive way to get around are long gone.
