Luton has a free bus to Luton Airport Parkway, where you can catch trains every 10 minutes to the capital.
Stansted has the Stansted Express, a half-hourly dedicated train service.
Gatwick has the Gatwick Express, similar but more frequent.
Those are the cheaper airports.
Heathrow has both London Underground connections and the Heathrow Express train service into the centre.
London City is in the centre of London, no shuttle is needed.
That's just train services. There are more bus and coach services than I care to count (mainly because I'd need to look it up :-P), including inter-airport.
So you can easily and quickly get to London from any of the London airports.
Nottingham East Midlands Airport has bus links to Loughborough (the official railway interchange station for EMA), as well as all 3 closest cities.
And Leeds-Bradford airport also has a shuttle coach to both Leeds and Bradford, centres and railway stations.
This is just my experience - and Leeds-Bradford Airport would be a sorry excuse for a shoebox...
In short, you won't find a UK airport without public transport to both a) a railway station and b) the nearest town(s).
Does this help? ;-)
