Raisa has it on her new laptop.
The menu lists and layout is COMPLETELY different! Everything you know is there (and a whole lot more, some of which is nifty...) ... somewhere... just not where you left it last time in office 2003. The main menu device is now the 'ribbon' which seems to have everything in just the wrong place from where you want it to be - and as yet you CAN'T modify it or rearrange the order of the various boxes! But M$ are working on it they claim... ya-huh...
At least you can add your own frequently used features and buttons to a 'quick access toolbar' which is basically a mini toolbar below the ribbon thing and then hide/minimise the ribbon to get rid of it - but I can see that in a work environment that "QAT" as they've dubbed it will fill up very quickly, so basically you end up making a custom mini version of the buttons you're used to seeing anyway and ignoring the ribbon altogether... making it kinda pointless huh?
it does a whole lot more to graphics and pictures - should you need them, but most people are just using word to write well... words, So who cares really. So far I haven't been brave enough to go into excel, outlook and the other apps in Office.
At this stage we are *that close* to removing Office 2007 from the laptop altogether and getting hold of Office 2003 and installing that again. But Raisa says she'll give it another week or so before making that decision.
