It's confusing and annoying with that ribbon thing. There's too much to look at so stuff gets lost in the clutter. Raisa (and I) don't need to spend 10 minutes hunting around for a button or feature everytime we want to do something, which was as simple as a 'save as' in the early hours of the thing - who the heck knew that the orange logo in top left was the new FILE menu!!!..???? People were just meant to guess at that were they because it came with no nice intro screen explaining the changes or features?? M$ just assumed you knew somehow!?
and vast numbers of offices and most particularly schools are still using XP and intend to for a long time yet. (Cost/Slowness-clunkiness of Vista and in the case of schools- old computers that can't run vista - with no funds for upgrades being the reason) We bought a DELL purely because they offered a big chunky laptop RAM-wise with XP pre-installed and Vista just sitting on a CD in the bag. The first thing I did to XP was change the start menu to 'classic view' which is heaps easier to use than the vista/xp format.
At the WA edu dept at least we've only just upgraded to Office 2003 and are running XP with no intention of changing for at least 5 years it seems. I colour stuff...
