I better start at the beginning. Two weeks ago today, I had the flu. I was out of work for three and a half days. That same Monday, my husband lost his job. So, we had a rough week. Matthew got a part time job the next day, and a second part-time job the next week, but him losing his job meant we had to redo our loan application.
Thursday, we found out all we needed to go forward with the deal was that loan pre-approval letter. Friday, we re-signed everything for the house application for the bank (it's a bank-owned property) and TODAY we got our pre-approval letter. Thursday we have to be at the house at 4:30 for our house inspection! We hope to close on March 5th, but we have the option to close before. We've picked a bunch of the colors for the walls, and I'm trying to create a packing strategy.
We are buying a house. We're meeting with the loan guy later this week, and I'm totally freaking out over how excited I am. Mum's already offered to buy our kitchen light as a "welcome home" gift (there's a grease-covered fan in there right now) and we're going to get some help taking down some of the fans in the house that bother me.
On top of that. I finished the first draft of my novel tonight. 71,279 words. It's a rough draft, and I have a LOT to add because I was writing too short-hand at first... so that'll make this book quite a bit longer, but I'm thrilled just to be at this point where I have a rough draft I can start editing, rather than going back as I went and try to someday get to the end. I just have a major sense of accomplishment, and it's so exciting to me.
So, I'm feeling pretty blessed right now despite other drama in my life. Now, I gotta pack!! Ack! I'm getting a HOUSE!!
