that's just stupid...
but even when we got our first loan, and I had a 'maybe ongoing' full time job as a fixed term teacher and Raisa was only getting $35K a year the ANZ still said we could have $350K for a house! (in 1999)

maybe you need to go back and look at some other loan arrangments and offers...? Things have changed in recent times and its a lot easier to get money off the banks here in Australia, even with the financial crisis.
I colour stuff...
