The big question is whether he's in pain. If you believe he's suffering, it might be best to put him down. However, if he's simply losing weight and getting old, I say let him keep on going. That said, out of all the cats we've had at this house, the youngest to die was 10 years old. Most have lived to be at least 15, and some lived to be 19. "Stupidity is no excuse!"
