I'm two eps in (plus the Christmas special) to series 2, and it's just not sticking.
Firstly, the doctor took tea with Rose, Mikey and Jackie. That's just not him. Also, he accepted Knighthood. Rose always said he just kept moving... I mean, he's doing all these things that I never thought the doctor would do, and while I appreciate there's a new personality in the mix, this is rediculous.
I've come to realize my problem is not with the actor. He's quite strong, really, but not memorable. It's really the writing. At least these few episodes, it's been terribly dark and serious. Series 1 had a few really serious eps, but there was always this playfullness and giddiness to what was happening. Now, it's just dark and bizarre.
I'm still watching, but my interest in series 2 is definitely not going up, thus far...
Anyone have any particular eps in series 2 and 3 they think are great? Thus far, nothing is sticking... And I am trying to give it a fair chance.
