Hooray for home inspections! Good thing I decided to have one. With cosmetic damage, who knows what lurks beneath the surface? My inspector knows! Here are the biggies (and, acording to my realtor, not my problem to fix, so I don't think I'll compromise on them):
1. Backyard electrical socket dangling. Needs to be screwed in tightly.
2. Back-up heater not working.
3. Air handler is dirty and needs new filter.
4. Hot water shut off valve to upstairs tub is leaking. (Basically, this means that the hot water to the tub would be turned off. When they bathe, they turn it on, then turn it back off when done.)
5. Downstairs toilet leaking. (The toilet tank never stops filling up. They turn the valve on, wait for the tank to fill up as much as it will, flush, then turn it bak off.)
6. Sliding glass door to backyard needs to b replaced. (It's lost its seal, so it dips down, making it kinda difficult to open or close it.)
7. Screen door to front door needs to be replaced. (Aside from the peeling paint and metal, there's no catch on it to force it closed once opened.)
Nice! But overall, it's a great house and I'd really like to get my hands on it!
