I've had this entire week off, a much needed respite considering I took no vacation time during the incredibly busy holiday season while the rest of the leadership team did. So, I'm enjoying this week off being productive at the house (since we only have one, borrowed car currently in use by the man I love) but also working on my writing, and also spending some moments being silly and perusing the web, and I realized... I miss this place.
Of course, we're all older now, and there isn't a Star Trek television series on air every week for us to dissect. But, I miss it. I miss the wild energy and the excitement and all that jazz that came with this place. I remember searching the pages for posts because they were moving so swiftly, fueled by our energy and excitement. We were a whirly-gig of activity!
Yes, I know those of us who were teenagers then have now married and gotten jobs in this "Real World", or so it seems, but I do miss the buzz and anticipation of coming here. I miss the IRC and ICQ chats. I miss the fun. I miss you guys.
Even though the traces of the old days are scarce, I still come here several times a week hoping to see some new posts and life, and I still think of keeping you guys up to speed on what's going on in my life... Old habits don't die, eh?
So, this is my random love letter, not to Sev, but to the Sevilians, to the inhabitants of this board who are the stragglers of a dying age. I. Miss. This.
