Well,
I
think
it
was
a
good
investment,
personally.

I was going from 30 - 40 FPS to about 60 - 70 FPS now, and I was also able to increase my game's resolution from 1024 x 768 to 1152 x 864. (I wanted to go to the full 1280 x 1024 my screen supports, but it makes my FPS go back down to about 40.) I also went from 60 - 90 ms pings on my favorite Half Life server (served in Texas, while I'm in Maryland, so about 1200 miles, give or take) to about 40 - 60 ms pings.
Increased resolution, increased FPS, and decreased pings make me a happy guy. :-) Also, when Steam decided it wanted to download an update, my lag used to go through the roof, forcing me to disconnect, pause the download, and reconnect to the server. Now, I barely notice it. I might notice it's a little slower and wonder, but that was it.
As for cost... Direct from Bigfoot will cost you $250 for the M1 card I bought. However, I got it from NewEgg.com for $135.
As for the initial question, I ended up trying it last night before I got any responses. Suffice to say, I ended up having some sort of constant network traffic at about 0.5%, and my CPU usage spiked through the roof. Therefore, I disconnected the wire and got rid of the bridge. (I noticed that separately, it was fine and that only when it was bridged did the huge amount of CPU usage and the network traffic happened.)
"Stupidity is no excuse!"
