Alright... Originally, I had a DSL modem hooked directly into my motherboard's on-board Network jack. The on-board jack is 1 Gbps.
Then, when my mom needed Net access on her new laptop, we got a wireless hub with 4 wired ports on it. DSL modem was now plugged into the hub, with the computer on one of the wired ports. Mom's laptop is off 90% of the time, and when it's on, it's only for email and surfing.
Then, I got a Killer NIC and had my hub wire plug into that. (Killer NIC has its own Network Processing Unit, kind of like the GPU on your graphics card.) Now the Killer NIC fluctuates in speed (for reasons I don't know) between 1 Gbps and 100 Mbps. The on-board jack is constantly 1 Gbps.
What I was wondering was whether hooking up a second cable between the currently unused on-board jack and another port in my hub, then bridging the connections would be a good idea. Would it increase my speed any? (I know it would if I had 2 separate Internet connections, with one on each card.) Would it harm anything? Would it just be pointless?
"Stupidity is no excuse!"
