Thanks Littlestar :-) You gave me a really thoughtful answer, and I really appreciate it.
I think you're absolutely right about her thinking she's losing him, she gets on with Simon (most of the time) a lot better than his brother or dad because he's so lovely so I think she's come to rely on him too much...and I know she's going through a lot of stuff right now, moving house, new job etc, and I think you're right that she needs to deal with it. I just wish she'd leave poor Simon alone and not take it out on him.
I have tried spending time with her, going shopping etc, and he's always trying to keep her happy by spending time with her, but you're exactly right - nothing we do makes any difference, so I'm starting to feel that, if we get abuse whatever we do, we might as well not bother trying.
And you're right, she's acting like a child - I've said before to Simon that he acts far more like an adult than his mother does.
Thanks hon - it was great to get some advice, and I think you're right, there's not a lot I can besides wait and hope she works through her own issues.
