CURRENT MESSAGE

It RAINED here. RAINED.
What a STRESSFUL Christmas. Sunday? I couldn't sleep Saturday night, so I had 2, count them, 2 hours of sleep. I got up at 6:30am and went to church. My mom and I do the readings of Luke 2, so I was there until noon. Then, I went home and tried to finish up the tree. Mom got home around 1, and we finished the tree together, then cleaned house. We vaccumed, and worked, and baked, and around 6 went to my stepgrandparents'. We were there until 8:30, when we left to pick my brother up from the airport.

They lost his luggage. Second time this airline has lost his luggage. So, we're in the airport at 10pm as he checks with baggage claim while Mom deals with a crisis on the phone and I sit there, wishing I'd slept more the night before. We finally convinced my brother to go home, and we went home. And, oh yeah, me, the girl with two hours of sleep... I was the one driving.

After all that, my adrenaline was up, so though I was exhausted, sleep didn't come. My stepsister came home and went to bed early while my stepbrother and brother went out. I sat on the computer until almost 2am. We got up around 10am on Christmas morning and opened gifts in the living room while sipping juice and eating leftovers from the night before. After that, we all prepared to go to my stepgreatgrandmother's. Matthew came over around 12:45pm so we could exchange gifts and he gave me the BEST gift I got this year: a book to teach me braille by sight, accompanied with the same book IN braille! See, I want to learn braille by touch, and now I can!!

By 1 we were at the greatgrandmother's, and were there until 3ish. I dropped by the house for a little bit, then went over to Matt's sister's to be with his family. I got there around 4:30, driving in the rain. His neice is 15, and she's a sweety. His nephew is 6, and he's insanely out of control... so that was a crazy time. Matt's parents were also there, so I could thank them for what they got me and Matt. I'm going to be the aunt of 9 in a few months. That's just scary. The youngest is 3, the oldest is almost 20. Ack!

After that, I went back to Mom's. I was supposed to chill and eat, but I felt ill from being in moldy houses all day. (I'm severely allergic to mold). So, I hung out with Mom for about an hour, then headed home, getting back here around 8pm. I was wiped. I put away my clothes, organized the makeup I got, put away the DVDs, set up the palm pilot (which I'll almost never use), and then played my computer game. :)

I got in bed... I don't even remember when... I think it was 3am. I slept until 12:30pm when my mom and brother started calling. See, my brother's Dad lives a state away, and wants to visit him. So, we're driving down Thursday and staying the night, coming back on Friday. I had to move a doctor's appointment to make it work, but my brother is only in town until the 4th. So, it should be fun.

Matt came over today, and he was just as wiped as I was from the festivities. We're already deciding a plan of attack for our holiday schedules once we're married. I mean, we drove around SO much that we didn't really get to ENJOY Christmas and reflect on the real meaning... There was too much fan fare.

Dad came back to town today after being in Florida with my Grandmother, Uncles and Aunt and cousins. I miss them! He gave us 200$ worth of firecrackers for New Years (not kidding. These are high end). And, he gave me a portable DVD player, which will come in handy during my trip on Thursday!

So, today and tmra are my cool down days... Tmra night Matt's play opens, and I'll be there. Thursday, my brother and I will be on the road, then with his family, then back home on Friday... This weekend? Some kind of relaxation, I hope. I'm really, really wiped from all this...

Also, January marks my time to look, again, for a second job. I was going to try to work for a company I've worked with before, but they had no open positions. So, I'm on the hunt. My deal was that I'd start looking in January. Please pray, if you think about it.

Christmas... Lovely, but, sadly, I'm glad it's over this year. Next year should be better...
