Plenty of you guys have cats, right??
Well, we do too. Well, cat, singular. We got Theon (he's a Russian Blue cross Persian plus serial killer) just before Christmas last year. Last year, we didn't have that much time before Christmas, so we just got a little Christmas tree in a pot (which promptly died after Christmas - 45oC Australian Summers and pine trees don't really go together).
So this year, we're faced with a dilemma. Do we get a real Christmas tree, and hope Theon doesn't try to attack it, climb it, mate with it - whatever, or should we go with a fake tree, which, at least if he knocks it over, won't cause too much stress. We don't know how he's going to react at all. My parents' cat, Sooty never tried to interact at all with their plastic tree - although me ant my sister DID decide to "see what would happen" if we put him in the tree one year - which resulted in a bit of a disaster.
On the other hand, plastic christmas trees suck )c: Me and Angus have always gone for real ones - it's a tradition.
Have you guys ever had a cat climb the christmas tree before?
PS - the aforementioned Theon is currently sleeping next to me...snoring.
PPSS - and I'm still giggling about that monorail cat pic, Sean (c:
