(disclaimer: I didn't rtfa with any more than a quick glance)
As much as I'd like to see the idea of Intelligent Design advocated, I'm not sure science class is the place for it.
I'd be more in favor of making sure that both facts in favor of Evolution and facts that call it into question are taught.
As far as I'm concerned, Evolution is only a question of "how", not "who".
We had a speaker on campus last year talking about the age of the Earth. He said that he had no theological objections to an "old Earth" (billions of years). All of his objections were all scientific. (no, I don't remember the specific details of his argument, but I could probably hunt down the video if anyone wants)
