my cousin annemarie is marrying in october 2007 - she got engaged a month ago - wedding fever is already in full swing. i'm a bridesmaid and the thought of the hen night anbd wedding is keeping me awake sometimes. though so far its mostly enjoyable stuff, im glad i dont have to find a venue or anything!
i think bridesmaids are usually more involved over here...
well i was a bridesmaid once before for another cousin, one i am less close to, and i didnt feel very involved in that but that is because she was a bridezilla on legs and her best mate took charge of everything.
But in this case... well... im hatching plans, i routed out a childhood pic of her (she just turned 30) that i fully intend to plaster somewhere, i am plotting hen stuff, i am realising that as she is in london i had better start saving (already), im planning pamper packs for us to use the night before the wedding (there are just the 2 bridesmaids and the bride of course) and i will be making the place cards for the reception using my crafty skills.. plans plans...
she wanted a small quiet wedding but if you want a small quiet wedding DONT MARRY A MAN WITH A COUNTRY FOR A FAMILY!!! hehe.. i told her if they eloped we would follow her - HER family dont let the chance of a good knees up fly away ;)
good luck with the planning, mothers are nightmares... tell her to chill, its a year away :O
