ive picked up stuff and at the cashier it rings up as less than the price tag says - and it usually turns out that there was some discount not yet put on display or i just missed the sign saying so. Over here you often get signs saying 10% off marked price so the price tag itself looks normal
tho 5 cent is obviously a mistake - a cashier is basically trained to scan items and arent really thought to question it i guess. i wonder - how much was that notebook usually? if it was 2.99 on sale i wonder if it had 5 cents off - heh.
i dont think its stealing if its their fault it didnt ring though right but then anyone overcharged would be pretty pissed at THAT
