I had a candle buirnng and some wax dripped onto the carpet, i read that if i put a piece of paper ontop of the wax and place the iron on top of it for a few seconds then it would melt the wax, the wax would stick to the paper leaving a lovey clean carpet.Well i got it so wrong .. i put a piece of newspaper on the wax, placed the iron ontop then realised i had left it for too long when i heard a tzzzzzz at the same time steam whooshed out of the iron, i lifted it to find it had burned right through the carpet leaving that dreaded iron shape, if that wasn't bad enough i then started ironing our clothes the next day to find little black marks on the clothes which where coming off the iron which i had forgotten to clean with all the panic over the carpet, i think i prefered the wax!
