eh only tryed out three times in highschool for musicals. Never made callbacks. I got a general chorus part in two musicals but nothing really fancy.
I tryed out for the afterschool singing groups and only made it once in sophmore year (10th grade) in a special group and I got in because I was an alternate. Only alternate that got to be used that year. It was harder Junior (11th) and Senior(12th) year because I changed to a brand new school. The choral director there wanted a much more select group than the one @ my old one so I never made it.
Anything else perfoming-wise I've tryed out numerous times for solos (I take the "if I don't I'll never know, If I could" approach) in various choral pieces that the choir was singing, but never got it.
Even more to my singing unsuccess. I tryed out 4 years for the Allstate chorus (best singers in your age group, and vocal range in the state) and never passed the 1st round of auditions once. I was great and got perfect to very-near-perfect scores on everything except the sight singing where I got 15 pts for what could be 3 pts.
You can see why I'm not a music major. I think I'm the only Engineering student taking chorus classes here, at my university.
I was singing with my roommate various songs today and talking about fav. songs and musical backgrounds.
