Studying about the disease of the crvuioaascdlar system is scary and amazing all at the same time. I spent a little more time over several different sections of the module. Last year, I had severe leg pain from my groin all they way down to my ankle. I had an ultra sound done on my femoral arteries to make sure I did not have a thrombosis or an aneurysm. Test came back great and I was told I had phlebitis. Rheumatic heart disease was another topic of interest. My son has had pretty bad bouts of strep when he was little even developing scarlet fever. Is scarlet fever the same as rheumatic fever? He has had doses of bicillin to help protect his heart valves from the infections. Fetal and perinatal circulation was very fascinating and simply amazes me how our bodies automatically make the switch from umbilical circulation to our own heart and lungs kick into full gear.
