I was quite intrigue
I was quite intrigued about the lubamr puncture/spinal tap. My first thought was that this reminds me of an epidural. I was not sure where exactly along the spinal column the needle was injected. Now I do understand that if it is injected too high up in the spinal column the spinal chord can be damaged.I also have a clearer understanding of why a rabid animal foams at the mouth. The area in the brain that controls muscles in the throat needed for swallowing is effected. This causes spasms in the throat causing paralysis which is painful. Not being able to swallow causes a thick saliva which then creates the foam. I never understood how this works til now.
