That's weird. Considering market pnontiosiig, FORD BRASIL tends to sell their cars cheaper than competition, exactly because they have no trust from anyone, anymore. The Focus, in Europe, competes directly with the Golf (which for you there is sold as the Jetta, imported from Mexico, around R$ 100k and over), and in Brazil they have to sell it competing with much smaller and simpler cars maybe the extreme difficult in maintaining the car made you sense it as not solid ? I know several people who own a Focus MK2, in Brazil, and other than difficult in getting maintenance parts, I have never heard any complaints.I do not, however, know the current line up from Volkswagen in Brasil, as it's very much different from what they sell anywhere else, and I have never seen a new Voyage . I know the Fox has a very good name in Europe, as a cheap car, yes, but as a reliable and honest cheap car. Plus, everyone loves the Polo, and the Golf is more like a landmark than a car.The Brazilian market is somehow detached from reality expensive cars, costly to finance, costly to maintain, and some points, such as color or gender image are key aspects for people there to decide what to buy, not how safe or economical the car is I won't try to understand but one thing I'm 100% with you, considering the cost of a new VW there, with insurance and all that, it sounds crazy to consider them for a brand new car, at least the entry level ones, WAAAY too expensive if compared to the competition.
