My fiancee is up near Mackay (basically the middle of the queensland coast) at the moment doing a regional prac for her nursing degree, on the weekend the area got hit with a cyclone. From most reports it wasn't as bad as it could have been (the area Meischa is in wasn't too bad, power was out for a day or so, but other wise okay)...
The bad thing was that the hospital that she's at (Sarina hospital) and the Mackay hospital actually lost power! They both obviously have generators, but clearly hadn't maintained them properly...I don't think anyone died or anything like that because of it, but between them they did lose something like $50K worth of chilled meds...
Anyway, everyone seems to be okay, good to hear that's the same case over your way Sean.
Who's going to clear away the bodies...that's what I want to know.
