Raisa has gottern her two weeks notice that her Oracle contract will end early on March 31st and not June 30th as it was meant to...
so we go from an almost $200K combined income to my $72K in one fell swoop...
that's the good thing about being a teacher I suppose. There are always kids that need some learnin' and edumakashun and with the credit crunch even MORE kids are coming to Government schools as people take them out of the private system. At Lesmurdie SHS we've had a 30% increase in enrolments this year and Como has had a 34% increase for example
Plus I got my permanency at just the right time - they *have* to employ me each year now rather than say 'sorry no fixed term jobs going just now' - despite the fact that they're still short 40 teachers State wide after 8 weeks of term 1...
anyway, we'll just have to tighten the belts and avoid the trips to Italy and the $1000 worth of tickets to Dralion and such for a while I guess...
It's a good thing that we own our home outright, have paid off a major chunk of the investment house as well (and by wiping out our savings could actually pay that off entirely - not a good idea though...) and have a rather healthy looking savings balance
bleah... stupid bankers...
I colour stuff...
