That would be because it is the free version...
the paid version gives you the option to customise the scanning time and day amongst other things.

I trust AVG, I trust it a lot, and we always set it up on new or upgraded server networks for the server and clients.

Symantec Corporate AV and McAfee Corporate AV are just plain jokes, they won't protect much and if you install them in a corporate environment then you deserve to get a virus that wipes out your systems.

End of Rant about corporate AVs.
