I have myfairlycommonfirstname.myfairlycommonlastname@gmail.com (although, how cool an email address would *that* be?!) because I got in on the game fairly early.
The amount of people with my name in the English-speaking world (to date: Aus Can UK US, no NZ yet) who give out my email address despite not having one remotely similar is astonishing.
I got one Aussie's passport application (I was one piece of personal info, probably mother's maiden name, from being able to log in and edit his application), bona fide job offers for (another/the same) Aussie who is a medical Doctor, another me in the south of England gave my email address on his apple.com store account (in fairness he missed off the "9" from the end of his otherwise identical address, but still).
Oh, and the American who registered his myspace account to my email too. After trying to get him to change it, I eventually just deleted his myspace account. I'm done playing fair with morons.
