because we already had our pay's going into a regular savings account before we got the mortgage and frankly its too much of a hassle to change banking and pay details with the Education Dept. Its bad enough just changing address with them!
secondly the banks keep changing the rules on their 90 day credit cards and so what you have in a year or so is not going to be what you started out with, and usually it doesn't suit...
so we just do a manual transfer each pay week via the interweb from one account to another.
I colour stuff...
