basically I take existing art panels that are up to 40 years old and remove the speech bubbles and sound effects to give a clean un-obstructed image of the character which will then be used in the new handbook/guidebook they're producing. That means a lot of cleaning up of the grubby scan in the first place, and then mostly going mad with the clone tool in photoshop to mask out the bubbles/effects etc. Occasionally I have to repaint some of the picture to fix up the bits that are now missing.
It's very small beans at $3.00 a picture.... I'm not merely a small fish in a big pond, I am an amoeba living on the small fish.
But officially the contract (got it today!!) is from Marvel Comics and they are officially paying the bills, so yes, you can say that I work for Marvel...kinda. I colour stuff...
