Although in my case it's because my heating's so bloody useless and my house a very poor insulator. To get the house actually warm I would have to spend my entire salary on fuel :0P So I just have one hour in the morning to make it viable to get up, half an hour when I get home from work and another half hour before my hypothetical bedtime. Thankfully it was only a couple of weeks we had where the temperature never climbed above zero, but they weren't very fun weeks.
I've been sleeping with two duvets, a fleece blanket and a jumper for a couple of months now - and on colder days, a dressing gown too. And there's a scarf stuffed down the side of the front door since that's opposite my main vent and I was literally pumping heat out the door. You can see daylight down that gap!
Why yes, I am looking forward to my three days back home for Christmas ;0) Heating!
