They haven't actually collided any atoms yet. It's all testing at the moment. Still, rest assured that if the end of the world happens due to a black hole created in the LHC by the collision of two atoms, you'll never new it happened. One moment we exist, the next, nothing but very flat particles sucked into a black hole. :)
