Exactly. THere always be exceptions, though. For example, if the first place finisher is so far ahead of the pack, and the remainder of the contestants finish very close together, I can see how 2nd place would be very happy. Conversly, if the top three finishers were all very, very close, or if the third place finisher had previously placed first, then I can see how they would be more disappointed.
