I guess it has to do with... Just making it... Because, you can miss out on Gold by half a point, a second, whatever. If you're Bronze, you weren't pushed out of the medals. Silver is just such a small step from Gold, that it probably feels worse to know you JUST missed out rather than JUST made it. maybe...
