What's
a
good
way
to
introduce
a
cat
to
the
outside
world?
My new cat Kisa has been inside now for almost a full month as she gets used to our house and her new home.
But it's time to let her outside next week... and we hope she won't go too far and will come back!
So what's a good way to go about doing that?
We've let her outsde for some very closely supervised times in our patio and backyard area for about 20 minutes max each but now it's time to just 'let her go'...!!! It's kinda scary as we don't know how she'll react.
All my past cats were far more independent and 'sure' in their characters and we kinda just let them out and yep, they came back ok... I don't have the same confidence with Kisa for some reason
We don't have a too busy street so that's a good thing. There's a main road/avenue about 100m away but she has to get cross our street and through the neighbours yards and then across about 25m of scrub/bush to get to it. Being female we hope she won't want to roam so far. (???!!!)
she has a collar with name and phone number on it, plus she's microchipped and registered on the database so that's all the official ID we can give her.
still nervous about it though...
