CURRENT MESSAGE

Since when can commercial channels broadcast more then 1 thing at a time?!
The last i knew the commercial stations 7, 9 & 10, could only broadcast the same thing (even though they all have up to half a dozen digital channels set up, all showing the same thing, with the exception to their EPG channel). The one exception to the rule as I knew it was with things like major sporting events etc (i.e. world cup / grand prix etc), they could do something like play the straight event on one channel, and have commentary or something additional (but to no major extent different) or another channel.

Obviously ABC (being government funded) and SBS (partly so) have been able to broadcast more then one (both stations have two channels).

Hasn't all major primetime/inhouse (i.e. the news etc) viewing been in HD on all commercial channels for awhile now, broadcast simultaneously 3 times over (analog, SD digital and HD digital).

Has something changed?

I know 10 have their big horah about 10HD! w00t! ... But i didn't think anything had really changed? (Or is 10 just behind the ball (as per usual really), and not had HD before now?! cause i know CSI and stuff like that has been coming in HD for ages (as well as analog / SD).

Who's going to clear away the bodies...that's what I want to know.
