we paid of our mortgage here 2 years ago after having it for 5 years. I made sure that we paid the last lump sum, then also paid off all the bills on the fridge as well and the credit card. Since we own everything else, including the cars, outright we were officially DEBT FREE!!! We owed nothing to anybody!!
well for 24 hours at least...
because the next day we went out and got a $250 000 dollar loan to buy our investment/rental house....
