For those not familiar with Dan's work, he sets up murder/mysteries and layers them with cryptography, art, history, and at-the-end-of-the-book romance. The biggest thing about his books is that he always sets up a mysterious figure as the main bad guy that isn't revealed until near the end of the novel. People always seem shocked after finding out who dun it, but I figured out his formula, so I know who my mystery date is halfway through the book. If you don't want to know, stop reading now! That formula is:
1. The main antagonist is introduced in or near the beginning of the book, but remains hidden and unidentified until the climax.
2. When the antagonist is revealed, it is realized that the character was introduced earlier in the novel and is the one person the protagonist trusted most.
Can't wait for his next novel...
