Any idea on how I can rid a pc of the stupid Symantec Internet Worm Protection? I've run symnrt, ccleaner, manually removed the symantec cor e lc service, checked the hidden devices in hardware manager and removed it from there but it still shows as being on in the windows security center. And I know it is on because it is blocking my local network, I'm sure it won't block the network of the customer if I took it back to his place. I've also removed all registry entries for symantec and norton.
And for anyone else reading this, this is why you should never ever ever touch or use Symantec software for security on your personal PC, it sucks, chews up way to much system resources, is convoluted, has to put itself everywhere in the system to just protect itself and then when you uninstall it doesn't always remove everything because some nutjob programmer forgot about a registry location or file location. If you do use symantec then I will come round your house, kick your door down and blow your computer up because that would be kinder to the PC. §evqui§
