We went to see the Cirque du Soliel show "Varekai" on Saturday last!! It's touring the world and is here in Perth for 2 months or so.
We had the top notch VIP tickets which and had center aisle row B seats!! This put us on eye level with the stage and the performers and also meant they were looking straight at us. I even waved to one of the girls and she smiled back! :D
VIP tickets meant that we also got the exclusive parking right next door, food and drinks before the show and at intermission, the comfy VIP tent to sit around in (good because it started to drizzle and the great unwashed masses of Non VIPs outside had to either get wet or cram into the shop tent :P ), free program and CD, and we had access to our own boutique with stuff not available to the rest... We spent another $400 on top of the $750 ticket price while we were there!!
The show itself was fantastic and well worth the money! (This is the 3rd live show that I've seen and the 2nd that we've forked out for the VIP tickets - I've seen Alegria, Quidam and now Varekai) At various stages the acts were actually above our heads or even right next to where we were sitting in the audience. The only drag is that it had to end...!!
So well worth seeing if you ever get the chance! Varekai goes to Antwerp Belgium on Oct 25th, then to London on Jan 6th 2008 and then to Amsterdam on Feb 29th in case you're in the area...
cheers
