I've never compared English to American, but I'm sure there's more to it, as the American editions have pictorial headers for the chapters and British-exclusive words/phrases have to be changed so the American reader can understand the book (though how the American editor thought Americans know what what words like "kip" and "trainers" mean is beyond me).

Pictorial headers?! I want pictorial headers! :P... But still, 160 pages in quite an amount...I mean whether its trainers/sneakers/joggers/runners, its still one word, and i know phrase changes could/would make a larger difference, just seems like an aweful lot of extra pages, to just substitute something for something else. But hey, I’m not in total disbelief that it could actually be so, I’d just love to see the exact reasons of why the page count has such a significant difference...

Some (OK, many) Pottheads are freaks who read to book starting from 12:01 and never put it down until finished. Just saying I'm not that obsessed.

oooh ok, fair enough. Meither (heh look at that, i made a new word without even meaning to:P), i read it across about 4.5 days...
Who's going to clear away the bodies...that's what I want to know.
