Bad things happen to you all the time, small and big, you just notice it more when you've had something good happen recently and thus "expect" it :P
That said, there's a number I really don't like. I can live with it, but I get uncomfortable if I can't keep counting past it for some reason (and if I don't keep count, I get nervous in case it might be that number - although if it's counting how many cookies I eat or something I usually only keep track until a couple past the "dangerous" number ;)....
