The Up/Downs of my iPod..
*leans back on the Sev Lounge enjoying the cool sounds of music and podcasts from his Special Edition U2 iPod*...

I've had my ups and downs when it comes to my relationship with my iPod... *pats iPod* my-preciiioussss...

So anyway, as i've just gone through another episode in my iPod saga, thought i might share the story...

So, heres how the story goes... i have a Special Edition U2 iPod (Non-Colour) (bit of a fan ;), they played here just recently and were great by the way!). So anyway, i had had it and used it no troubles for a bit over a year, after which, in turn of events that caused the firmware to be corrupted via not disengaging while (i'm assuming) the HDD was currently in use, which in turn caused the devise itself not too work at all (trying restores etc etc), until a firmware upgrade was released (about 2-3months after it stopped working), at which time it finally allowed me to do a restore. After these events the HDD was extremely temperamental (you know how they can be), and after some 10 long good months of use, died again.....the HDD inside was all but ruined (HDD Click of death 'n all)... Obviously by this time it was long out of warranty... So i decided I would pull the thing apart to see if i could get it to work, pulled the HDD out, gave it a bit of a shake, put it back in, got it to at least connect to the pc/iTunes (which it wouldn't do before). But alas, after running a restore on it, and trying to sync it died again... ran another restore, it died still...

So anyway... did a bit of diggin' around, found a lot people that had managed to replace the battery, and then a few people who had managed to replace the HDD. So did a bit more looking around, and found a eBay store that sold iPod HDDs/Batteries. SO! Placed an order, got my shinnie 20Gb HDD and battery. Opened her up again, put in the new items. Closed, restored, and success! i am again back together with my portable music collection!

*is quite happie*

Who's going to clear away the bodies...that's what I want to know.
