well I'm feeling kinda guilty about all this because you're here because of me...via Harry Parch - which is the guy who recommended it to me (I've told him about it - he says sorry too) In my experience, vizaweb really sucked at first when things were being set up and my site was down at least once a day but has since only been down once in the month since (well at least when I was online) and then only for 5 minutes or so.
Would one solution be to resell webspace to yourself? - that way the main account would be something insignificant and unimportant - just to keep it open and operating, while all the important stuff would be on the other resell space which would be on the othger server...???
Their ftp though I find to be pretty bloody fast for me. Much faster than the old sevspace ftp and yes it does disconnect after about 10 minutes idle time but that doesn't bother me as most of hat I do doesn't take that long anyway. It's all a matter of perspective I suppose...
well - look at this this way. Get through the year you've signed up for as best you can, then tell 'em to naff off and go somewhere better and crank this one up to experience. Remember the past 6 years have been your own server and so you've been 'spoilt' by being in sole charge and control, whereas hassles like this (such as when I had all my stuff on a free webhost at freeyellow.com) are all just par for the course for the rest of us and nothing all that new...
