'Science vs religion, the battle continues.' posted by DoggySpew - 28/09/2005, 03:40:36

CURRENT MESSAGE

Whoa, seems I opened a can of worms here.
I haven't fully expressed my own view on the matter.

Irony has it that without religion, there would be no science (Unlike what most people think, religion is actually the motor of many of today's science).

So I do not understand why people are so blatant naieve that they throw all science out of the window since it has no place in religion, while that same religion created that science.

But that's besides the point. Intelligent design is as scientific as astrology (Do not confuse with astronomy). Also, it is a very Christian idea, not considering that there are probably more than a dozen religions out there, who have a different theory.

Also, people claim that evolution is a theory, and not a fact. And Intelligent design isn't ? That is as much a theory, that has even LESS evidence than evolution. All science is comprised out of theories, like Newton's laws of physics (Wich is in part replaced with Einstein's theories). Science is dynamic and (in large parts) neutral (Sometimes even science can be bogged down by it's own community, when it does not want to except a theory, even if it is a better one). Religion is not, seeing that people are so rigid in those ideas, they even have wars about them, which is condoned by most religions.
