I suggest you get rid of SpywareBlaster, S&D and Spywareguard altogether. Stick with Windows Defender, a decent antivirus program such as AVG Free and Ad-Aware, the free program without realtime monitoring.
I suggest using CCleaner (crap cleaner) to clean up temporary files if you feel like cleaning up your computer.

I'll look into them all. Thanks! But I think I'm pretty much covered since I have Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware with TruPrevent (yes that's all one name and yes it's a bitch to write). I just feel a little tweaking to the programs already installed on my computer would suffice.
|
I also suggest using Mozilla Firefox as your browser, and installing the IE Tab extension for Mozilla Firefox to allow some websites (trusted websites! or *.microsoft.com for example) that absolutely require Internet Explorer to work, to be opened in Internet Explorer (inside Firefox).
|
Had those for a while now, and Microsoft can go screw itself! I view their pages in Firefox.

If you feel daring and you still have an ad/spyware program on your PC, Hi-jack This! can help uncover where it is hiding and help you remove part of its startup routine so you can disable it. My experience is that if the programs I have mentioned don't find the ad/spyware program you find on your computer, it either doesn't exist, or it won't help to install other programs to try and fix it. Hi-jack This! can help in this case. Also, Windows Defender has some handy tools to find those nasty ActiveX plugins in Internet Explorer and allows you to disable/remove them, among other things.

Well, as far as extensions go, I have Adblock and NoScript, and Hijack This! never really suited my fancy as it takes longer to get results. But I'll look into those other programs you mentioned.
