Once
again,
totally
not
about
the
politics
for
me...

I was not in any way trying to diminish the importance of any other disasters or terrible occurances. I remember being horrified watching the images of people LITERALLY being washed away in the Tsunami, and I can not comment on our aid because I honestly don't know.
My rant was more about my anger at US-ians (as you put it) taking their heads out of their butts... I guess it angered me to no end that they couldn't at the very LEAST remember the lives that were lost in one day on their own soil... because that is not something we were used to at the time... I always think about Columbine, Oklahoma City bombing, and all these other instances, and I can deal with most people not remembering those, but it just seemed outrageous to me that 9/11 passed by unnoticed.
And honestly, I don't really see the US as any better than anywhere else... I'm not one of those "we're the best, EVER" people... My comments and post were just about the insensitivity and forgetfulness of the American people over something that four years ago seemed so important. I just hate how things lose importance over time...
And I can't say much else, because I honestly don't want to debate politically. I'm sorry my post reminded you of all this, but my post was not about politics or foreign policy or even importance of an event... it was just about my anger and fellow Americans for forgetting a day that hit so close to home...
