I've never bought an EP (The two I have for Sims 2 were birthday pressies from lovely friends, my copy of The Sims was lessthanlegal and thus wouldn't accept them.) But I vaguely recall that they were £20ish for the first game, so I'd guess a similar sort of price. The one problem is that generally speaking you should add EPs in order. So if you were to get Pets, you'd have to uninstall/reinstall should you ever want to add University/Nightlife/Open for Business. At least, that's how I understand it...
